Aeropostale Receives “Buy” Rating from Jefferies Group (ARO)

Aeropostale (NYSE: ARO)‘s stock had its “buy” rating restated by analysts at Jefferies Group in a research report issued to clients and investors on Wednesday. They currently have a $17.00 price target on the stock, down from their previous price target of $18.00.

The analysts wrote, “ARO reported a weak 4Q which was no surprise following the Holiday sales release and recently lowered guidance. Trends clearly remain challenged, but we believe expectations are now low enough for FY’14. This stock call continues to be based on the strong balance sheet ($230M cash at yr end) and cash generating properties of ARO. We see downside as limited and attractive risk/reward.”

Analysts at KeyBanc downgraded shares of Aeropostale from a “buy” rating to a “hold” rating in a research note to investors on Monday, February 25th. Separately, analysts at JPMorgan Chase cut their price target on shares of Aeropostale to $13.00 in a research note to investors on Monday, January 14th. Finally, analysts at Imperial Capital cut their price target on shares of Aeropostale from $18.00 to $15.00 in a research note to investors on Friday, January 11th. They now have an “outperform” rating on the stock.

Eight investment analysts have rated the stock with a buy rating, one has given an overweight rating, twelve have issued a hold rating, and one has given a sell rating to the stock. The company has an average rating of “overweight” and a consensus price target of $14.81.
