Gabriel Calderon: I Refused a Job Offer From Iran

Argentine football coach, Gabriel Humberto Calderón

Argentine football coach, Gabriel Humberto Calderón, said he has rejected a job offer from Iran. He also talks about Persepolis FC situation.

Many believe that Gabriel Calderón was the best choice for the post of Persepolis FC (taken by Manuel Jose from Portugal). He had a good performance in his managed clubs but Calderon couldn’t finalized the deal with Persepolis FC because of the financial problems. Persepolis asked him to lower his demanded money but Calderon refused to do that. “I cannot reveal more information of the negotiations between Persepolis FC and me because they are secret details. Professionally it’s not a good job to that. By the way, Mohammad Royanian decided to appoint Manuel Jose as the head coach and I respect to his decision.”

“Royanian had a great motivation when we he was talking to me in Turkey. He expected his team to claim the Iran Pro League title in this season. I usually track the results of Persepolis in league but I don’t have any information about the team situations.” Said Gabriel Calderon the former head coach of Baniyas club.

Calderón said he has recently received an offer from Iran. “One of the Iranian clubs decided to negotiate with me and they reached out to my agent in Sweden but I refused it immediately.” However Calderón didn’t mention to the reasons caused this.

Gabriel Calderon used to work for Saudi Arabia and Oman national football team, Al-Ittihad, Al-Hilal and Baniyas.
