Javad Nekounam, the current player of Esteghlal FC and the captain of Iran national football team, vowed to make the Azadi stadium hell for the South Korea team on tomorrow. Iran will meet the Korean team on Tuesday in Tehran’s Azadi Stadium in Group A of the 2014 World Cup qualifier.
“We could defeat Lebanon by scoring five goals and we made several opportunities. We played very well in that game but we couldn’t beat Lebanon. By the way we lost that match and we should not think much about that big failure. Team Melli must concentrate on the next matches specially the one against South Korea.” said Javad Nekounam, the former player of La Liga side Osasuna FC.
“Iran national football team has to collect all the possible points for the next two matches. I’m confident that our team will defeat South Korea in Tehran. Koreans have always been hurt by Iran. In the last few years, we have not lost any match against this team during the game. However South Korea eliminated Iran from 2007 Asia Cup in penalty shootout.” Javad Nekounam continued.
“We definitely need support from our fans. I believe if Team Melli wins the match against South Korea, we will qualify for the 2014 World Cup because Uzbekistan must meet with Qatar in Doha and they will have a really hard job there. If Iranian fans help us, we will turn the Azadi stadium into a hell for Koreans.” Javad Nekounam added.
