Sony, Samsung and LG to Start Smartphone Sales in UAE

Over the next few weeks, Sony, Samsung and LG will be launching three of their flagship smartphones in the UAE. The models are the Sony Xperia Z1, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the LG G2.

On Thursday of this week, the G2 from LG will be launched, while Samsung will launch the Note 3 and its smartwatch the Galaxy Gear Sunday, with Sony launching on Wednesday its Xperia Z1.

The President of LG in the Gulf area, DY Kim said the G2 was LG’s most awesome smartphone thus far to hit the market. Kim said the design was beautiful and the specs when compared to other competitors’ models were much better.

The device, which is 5.2-inches, has a quad-core Qualcomm 2.26GHz processor and a screen with 1920 x 1080 resolution. It sports a RAM of 2GB, a rear camera of 13MP and a front camera with 2.1MP.

LG said that every retail store throughout the UAE would have the G2 by the end of September.

When he was asked if the G2 was better than the S4 by Samsung, Kim said the G2 is not comparable to the S4 and is just comparable to the S5, meaning it has more features than Samsung’s S4.

Kim said the collaboration flagship model with Google, the Nexus 5 would most likely be launched in November.

Samsung’s Note 3, according to the Eros Group CEO, is expected to reach the UAE on Monday September 23. The price thus far has not been determined.

The launch globally of the Galaxy Gear Samsung SmartWatch is scheduled for September 25.

Sony’s Xperia Z1 is expected to be in all of the UAE mid next week and has 2GB of RAM and a 1920 x 1080 resolution screen as well.
